Announcing the 2008 Scholarship Award

This year's recipient of the Canadian Yearbook Review Scholarship for a yearbook editor went to Andrea Hill of Edmonton. Andrea was the editor of the Harry Ainlay High School yearbook. She has gone on to Carleton University in Ottawa, and is studying journalism.

Here is what Andrea has to say about her experience at Carleton so far: "Since September I have enjoyed getting involved in many of the opportunities offered at Carleton University. I have competed with the Carleton rowing team and am currently training with the Nordic cross country ski team. I write regularly for many sections of the campus newsletter The Charlatan, volunteer for Journalists for Human Rights, a national organization aiming to raise awareness of journalists across the world facing oppression, and I volunteer for the Paul Menton Centre for students with disabilities."

We wish Andrea the very best with her studies. We would also like to thank Ken Wright, teacher of Communication Studies at Harry Ainlay School, who took the time to encourage and support Andrea's application for this scholarship. Mr. Wright is the yearbook staff sponsor at Harry Ainlay.
