The Canadian Yearbook Review introduced a scholarship for 2006/07 valued at $500.00 to be given to a student editor of a Canadian yearbook. Students were judged with the following criteria:

Seven students applied for the scholarship, all of whom were outstanding candidates. Making a selection was difficult but a young gentleman by the name of Casey Benson was the recipient. Casey graduated from Grand Manan Community School in the community of Grand Manan, New Brunswick. He is an honours student with a keen interest in science and demonstrated skill in graphic design, photography and desktop publishing. He played baseball, basketball and volleyball and was active in working with youth in his community. In 2005 he was on the NBIAA Provincial Championship baseball team.

The Grand Manan yearbook received a score of 85% and marked the third year that books had been entered for a review.

Casey is currently registered at the Atlantic Baptist University in Moncton, New Brunswick and is majoring in Biology and working towards a Bachelor of Science. His ultimate goal is to become a teacher and share his love of science.

We wish him the very best and congratulate him on his outstanding achievements to date.
